Australian Export Certification
Only a select number of veterinarians across the country are authorised to issue export certificates for pets travelling to Australia (also known as MPI-approved vets). We are proud to be an authorised and experienced provider based in Auckland.
This process must be completed within 5 days of departure and includes:
- A comprehensive health check for your pet
- Approved parasite treatments for worms, fleas, and ticks
- Issuance of the Australian Export Certificate
Owner/Vet Supporting Declaration
For other international destinations (and in some cases, for pets travelling to Australia), the final export certificate must be issued by an Official Veterinarian with the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI). In such cases, an Owner/Vet Supporting Declaration must be completed within 30 days of departure. It’s recommended to complete this with your regular veterinarian, who is familiar with your pet’s medical history.
If you'd like to complete this process with us, please provide your pet’s medical history for review prior to the appointment.
Rabies Vaccination
If you're planning to travel overseas, it's a good idea to have your pet vaccinated against rabies to ensure they’re protected against this deadly disease.
In some cases - such as travel to the UK or European Union - it’s a mandatory entry requirement.
We offer a convenient home service, so your pet can receive their rabies vaccination in a familiar, stress-free environment.
IPATA-Certified BOAS Assessment
Brachycephalic breeds such as Bulldogs and Pugs may be at higher risk of respiratory complications during air travel. Some airlines require a BOAS (brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome) assessment before confirming bookings.
We are an IPATA-certified BOAS veterinary assessor for New Zealand and can conduct this assessment for your pet in the comfort of your home.
Microchipping
All cats and dogs must be microchipped prior to international travel. If your pet is not yet microchipped, we can have this done during the appointment.
Approved Parasite Treatments
Most international destinations require approved parasite treatments to be administered within a set timeframe prior to departure.
We only use products that are approved for export. For a treatment schedule tailored to your destination, consult your pet exporter - or feel free to contact us for guidance on the specific requirements.
