Frequently asked questions
I am planning to take my pet overseas - where do I start?
The first step is to get in contact with a pet exporter. They are the masterminds behind pet export operations, and will help you arrange everything from transport crates to flight bookings. We strongly recommend the use of a pet exporter as there are many moving parts that can affect your pet's export. We work closely with all pet exporters in Auckland to provide a seamless veterinary service.
What preparation or treatment does my pet need for export?
When you advise your pet exporter of your destination country, they will be able to give you a list of requirements that must be met and when they need to be completed by. Once you have this information, you can go to our online booking page and make bookings as required.
My dog requires blood tests for export. Where can I get this done?
Blood tests for export can be carried out with your regular vet clinic. It can take several weeks for some results to come through. Once you have received the (hopefully negative) results, you can make a booking with us for the next step of your pet's export.
My pet has a medical condition. Will this affect the export?
In most situations where your pet's condition has been stable and well managed, they should be fine for export. But if there have been any recent changes in their condition, we may need to assess the situation and carry out additional measures before signing off. It may be easiest for your regular veterinarian (who would have first-hand knowledge of your pet's condition and long term history) to make an assessment on whether your pet is fit for travel. If your pet does have a medical condition and/or is on medication, please bring these and any relevant medical records to your appointment as we will need to provide an additional health information letter.
Will you provide vaccination and parasite treatment certificates?
Absolutely. Being a veterinary service focused on pet exports, all of our services include a letter of treatment to support your pet's export. We pride ourselves on providing meticulous and accurate documentation.
Where can I get a travel crate/cage for my pet?
Your pet exporter will be able to assist you with sourcing an appropriately sized travel crate for your pet.
What are your opening hours?
At present, we are open on Sundays from 9:30am to 11:30am for individual clients. If you require any urgent appointments outside our designated hours, please contact us to check availability and we will endeavour to accommodate your needs where possible.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept all cashless methods - EFTPOS, credit card and bank transfer.
Can I bring my sick or unwell pets to you for treatment?
Because we are a veterinary service focused on cat & dog exports, we do not have medication or diagnostic capability to treat unwell animals.
